Today's challenges

On-line surfing exposes computer users to a host of web threats. The unprotected user is vulnerable to all manner of dubious Internet traffic such as viruses, zero-day network threats, spam and Denial of Service zombies. Once infected, computers change from receivers into the senders of malicious traffic. Most of the time, this happens without the user's knowledge. This situation typically causes drastic problems to service providers: bandwidth disruption, overloaded helpdesks and a loss of revenue.

The solution

The F-Secure Network ControlTM provides service providers with an automated process to control every single user's outgoing Internet traffic against malicious code. Users identified as the source of disruption, will be put off-line and will receive a web page message guiding them to clean up their computer by preferably installing a security solution or using an on-line scanner and, if needed a Windows update. Thus, service providers can offer the user their own security service, targeted at increasing the revenue stream. At the point when the selected computers are no longer a source of disruption to the network traffic, Internet access is automatically restored.
