Following the successful launch of F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway, X-series in November, F-Secure is now launching the advanced and robust P-Series in March at CeBIT in Hannover. The P-Series available as two different models, is targeted at Service Partners and large enterprises.

In February, F-Secure and Nokia announced that F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus will be available through Nokia to the users of four recently announced devices based on S60 3rd Edition - Nokia N71, Nokia E60, Nokia E61 and Nokia E70.

Web surfing exposes the unprotected Internet user to all manner of threats ranging from viruses, spam and botnet attacks. Once infected, a computer can become part of a hacker's zombie network spreading malicious traffic without its user even knowing about it - a typical headache for service providers that leads to bandwidth disruption, overloaded helpdesks and a loss of revenue. Of the many positive and ongoing developments with the company, F-Secure is particularly proud of its continued success in the data security market - our last interim report showed that for the tenth consecutive quarter we have been growing faster than any of our stock exchange listed competitors with the majority of the corporation's turnover coming from outside the Nordic countries. This growth is set against a background where in the last quarter the industry itself was marked by a considerable slowdown in growth generally.

Symbian malware has been rapidly increasing over the past year. In June 2005 it exceeded the 100 threshold and since then, this figure has risen beyond 160 and shows no signs of stopping.

Spyware incorporates a broad range of potentially malicious software designed to intercept or to some extent control a computer's operation without the informed consent of the user. Spyware usually enters a computer through deception of the user or through exploitation of software vulnerabilities. Broadly speaking it is software that subverts the computer's operation for the commercial benefit of a third party. Unlike viruses, it does not usually self-replicate.


In February, F-Secure announced continued strong growth figures in its interim report stating that the company had been growing faster than its stock exchange listed competitors for ten consecutive quarters.

The Internet as we know it came into being in the mid 90s. In the decade that has followed, millions of netizens have joined the online community regularly participating in message forums, gaming and other connected pursuits. But for all that is good about the Internet there is a flipside where addiction lurks in the corner.
